Around 30.00 - 40.00 and up depending on the PC and type of connector it has available. The three most common types of connections are PCI (Internal desktop card, like a modem uses), USB (external card, can be used for desktop and laptop computers) and PCMCIA/Cardbus cards which are "credit card" sized and slide into the side of laptop computers. While any 802.11b/g card will work, we suggest Buffalo Technology due to overall stability and compatibility experienced.

Any 802.11b or 802.11g network card will work. Installation and configuration at our office would be 15.00 if you did not want to do it yourself. Since the cards are also available at the UVa bookstore and locally at retailers (like Staples downtown, Office Depot, Best Buy or Circuit City) we encourage you to bring us the PC and the card and we'll do the installation and set the PC up as needed for our network at your site if you are not comfortable doing it yourself for a flat fee of 15.00. We will provide full instructions to allow you to do it yourself once our service has been established in your building.
