Windows Vista

Finding your MAC address in Vista is slightly different than in Windows XP. To find your MAC address in Vista:

  1. Click on the Windows button in the lower left hand corner.
  2. In the “start search” box type cmd
  3. In the command prompt, type ipconfig /all
  4. All your network adapters will be listed. Please find the one that describes your ethernet or wireless card in the Description field
  5. Once you have located the appropriate adapter, the Physical Address listed below the description is your MAC address.

Alternatively:

  1. Click on the Windows button in the lower left hand corner.
  2. Go to the Control Panel
  3. Click on Network and Internet
  4. Click on Network and Sharing Center
  5. Click on Manage Network Connections in the left hand pane.
  6. Identify your ethernet or wireless network adapter and double click on it.
  7. A window will pop up. Under Signal Quality click on Details.
  8. The Physical Address (or MAC address) will be listed in the resulting window.
